Ingram Warrior Homes Receives Generous Support from the Adam R. Scripps Foundation

Ingram Warrior Homes, a local non-profit that supports the building trades program at Ingram Tom Moore High School, is proud to announce the receipt of a generous three-year contribution from the Adam R. Scripps Foundation in support of its mission of empowering students through hands-on construction education.

This meaningful support will directly impact the continued development of student-built homes and educational programs that equip young people with valuable trade skills, craftsmanship experience, and real-world career opportunities. Through partnerships like this, Ingram Warrior Homes continues to create lasting change for both students and the community. Through their contribution, we will be able to provide students with supplies and help pay for an additional instructor to assist with the build on campus.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Adam R. Scripps Foundation for believing in our mission,” said Steve Schulte, Ingram Warrior Homes Board President. “Their generosity helps us continue building more than homes — we are building futures, confidence, and opportunities for our students.”

“Ingram Warrior Homes embodies exactly the kind of work that creates lasting change,” said Alex Bakkum, Chief Philanthropy Officer of the Adam R. Scripps Foundation. “By putting real tools in the hands of young people and giving them the skills to build something meaningful, they’re not just constructing homes, they’re constructing futures. We’re proud to stand behind that mission.”

Ingram Warrior Homes, in partnership with local students and educators, provides hands-on construction experience through the building of custom small homes. Students gain practical skills in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, project management, and teamwork while contributing to meaningful community projects.

The support from the Adam R. Scripps Foundation will help strengthen community volunteer involvement, expand educational opportunities for students, and increase partnerships with local building professionals through both monetary and in-kind donations. Their generosity will also help provide essential materials and resources for future builds while continuing to foster craftsmanship, workforce development, and hands-on learning opportunities for area students.
